HSBC today announces the appointment of Dimitri Anghelakis as Global Head of Trust and Fiduciary Services (TFS), effective 17 August 2026.
Dimitri is a highly regarded leader with deep experience across wealth, insurance and business development. He joined HSBC in 2017 as Group Head of Business Development for HSBC Life and Insurance Partnerships, and later served as Chief of Staff for Wealth and Personal Banking and Head of the Office of the Group Chairman. Dimitri will relocate from London to Hong Kong.
He succeeds Brent York, who will retire after more than three decades with HSBC. Brent has made a significant contribution to TFS, its clients and colleagues, and will remain with the business as an adviser until the middle of 2027 to support a smooth transition.
TFS will become part of HSBC Private Bank, with Dimitri reporting to Ida Liu.
TFS supports entrepreneurs, philanthropists and families with specialist services to help preserve wealth, manage successions and plan legacies for future generations.

About Dimitri Anghelakis
Dimitri Anghelakis joined HSBC in September 2017 as Group Head of Business Development for HSBC Life and Insurance Partnerships, with responsibility spanning sales, strategy and planning, and sustainability. He was appointed Chief of Staff, Wealth and Personal Banking, in April 2021 and became Head of the Office of the Group Chairman in January 2024, supporting Sir Mark Tucker and Brendan Nelson.
He previously held senior roles at an international bank across treasury, transaction banking, wealth management and insurance, and earlier served as a career diplomat for the Government of Greece. Dimitri holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and law degrees from the London School of Economics, the College of Europe (Bruges) and the University of Strasbourg.
